I recently blogged about my we-ain't-ready-for-baby-Mama-panic. We are so not ready for Evelyn as far as her room is concerned. And when I wrote my previous post, we didn't even have a diaper (aside from some cloth diapers that are too large for a newborn).
So, in order to calm my pregnant, over-stressed brain out, I decided to get down to business with a little prep & get creative.
I received a lot of sweet comments & emails from other Mamas who are on their second babies & like myself, just aren't ready!!! So I decided to share how I got creative. If Evelyn makes her appearance now, at least she will have clothes, diapers & a place to sleep. And really, that's all a baby needs in it's first few months of life.
We received a bunch of hand me down stuff from some friends & family periodically throughout my pregnancy, so I decided to go through what I could get to (No, really. Her room is a freaking episode of Hoarders waiting to happen.) I found some clothing & even a Boppy I forgot my sister brought to me! J & I went to WalMart with a gift certificate my Ma had given us for Christmas & we picked up a couple of newborn sized onesies & sleepers. And I ordered some chemical free newborn diapers online that should hold us over until we can transition to exclusive cloth diapers.
Since she doesn't officially have a room yet (J is building a shed we were gifted by his family for Christmas & all the stuff from her room now will go in there.), I set up a bassinet in our room (also handed down by me from my sister. I also cleared out one of my drawers & put all of her clothes into it so that she has some organization. Well, so that I have some sort of organization.
I feel so much more at peace with her arrival now, even if it's not the dream welcome home with a nursery all made & decorated. She will have her family & home. That's all she needs.

I understand how you feel. I'm due Tuesday and the baby's room is also my office. I keep cleaning it and cleaning but I can't keep it clean because I use that room so the little one will just have to bunk with us until I can figure out what to do,
